Off we went to Fredericia to see Ida and Allan get married. A real heavy metal affair, I don’t think Fredericia has ever seen the like. So proud of that Ida.

Bamboozled again
Does anyone actually use the word ‘bamboozled’. Nevertheless, that is precisely what happened this afternoon. Left the house this morning, in pouring rain, and obviously dressing appropriately. Went to the supermarket this afternoon at a point when the temperature had risen (wonderful because it’s St. Hans and cousin Lyn is visiting), but everyone had shorts on. How did that happen, where did they get the shorts from! Same story following my whole life, when I was a youngster going to work at the Beeb left in the morning ok weather, raining on the way home and every other bugger had an umbrella! Is there a deeper meaning to all this – never quite ready for changes or being ready for what might happen – God that is too boring to think about.
Sudoku
Just discovered a new way to solve a Sudoku, which now seems totally obvious but has escaped me for years. Wonder how much other stuff is out there which is blindingly obvious which I’ve still got to see – bit sad about the bits I’ll miss, but happy that it can still happen.
Wings for Life
We did it, Cecilie 20km and me 10km. Go me girl! Didn’t even expect to get past 5.
Hairdressers
Went to the hairdressers today. A few highlights or ‘darklights’ and a cut. The hairdresser told me that she has twins – girl and boy. She has been broken in to twice, and once in the car. Once while they actually lay asleep! She and her husband (who works in Århus a bit of an EDB has his hands screwed on the right way around) wear expensive sun glasses (she didn’t actually tell me this, but I surmised it, as she had stolen sun glasses all three times. Her assistant has a brother in Norway who she is visiting this Easter. She herself will be helping do the garden at the in-laws, along with family from Zealand. Her baby daughter had the squirts yesterday and managed to use 3 nappies in half an hour – there is more to that story but it gets a bit yucky. She has a microwave with a grill. And in the freezer she has dumplings in curry sauce.
I got away with no more than giving her my name! Anyone top that??
And She’s Back
Small technical hiccup has had me off-line for a few days, but clever clogs Silke has me up and running again.
Been to Copenhagen today to the visit the Embassy, why does it make me feel so very English being at the British Embassy? It’s like walking into a tiny little England in the middle of Copenhagen. All very British. There’s actually an Admiral at the Embassy, his fleet is a few plastic ducks on a pond in the grounds – I lie not. Reminds me that I must add to my To Do List before I’m too riddled by dementia to care, to be a part of the crowd in Hyde Park on the Last night of the Proms. ‘And did those feet in ancient time walk ……
Trotzdem
Been chatting to my good mate Rudi this week who introduced me to the word ‘trotzdem’. Sort of an English ‘whatever’…I think, but something along those lines. Something like ‘although I have a different opionion, I understand your point of view’. Needs some thinking about.
Or something to throw in at the next cocktail party I’m at in Germany:
‘Crystal Palace hätte trotzdem nicht getroffen’.
Walking to work
Why is it, that although I promise myself not to look, I always end up looking in number 5, at naked man having his breakfast, or whatever…
Birthday truly over
No more cards in the post today. In fact absolutely nothing in the post today. Had cards and presents from my brothers, from friends, from children, from family, even the ex remembered. It’s nice to feel liked.
Very heavy dog
Yesterday while walking home, I got the ball out for a play, actually I didn’t do this by choice, but because the dog sat down and refused to move from the spot where it usually plays ball. However, off we went with ball in hand/mouth having a gay old time, until said ball ended up at the top of a tree. Dog sits down under tree, and if dogs can cry I am pretty sure that’s what Bella was doing. After explaing to various passers by that I wasn’t mistreating her, I had no choice, but to pick up rather a substianal amount of dog and carry her home! Later my girlies arrived home, like two fresh sparkly whirwinds, to the rescue (and to celebrate my birthday). Silke showing the way, Cecilie climbing the tree. Ball released from the clutches of nature and peace on earth achieved.
Think that friend Dittes present was so thoughtful – I am grateful to have friends.
